Capstone Dashboard
The Capstone Dashboard is the main landing page for students, coaches, instructors, and administrators in Capstone.
The Capstone Dashboard consists of three main elements:
A Dashboard content item
The Dashboard content type
Views used on the dashboard.
Dashboard content item
The website should have one Dashboard content item. If that item gets deleted, users will see a 404 error when they try
to get to the Capstone Dashboard.
You can check for the presence of the Dashboard content by the following:

If the gray menu bar is not showing on your browser click on the Manage menu at the top left of the browser window. This will open the gray Administrator menu bar.
Click on the Content tab on the Administrator menu.
Filter by content type Dashboard.
There should be one and only one entry of type Dashboard, with a title Dashboard.
If there is not a Dashboard content item, add one by doing the following:
Click the Add Content (blue) button on the Content page.
Click the Dashboard title on the Add content page
Type Dashboard in the Title block
Click the Save button
Click the Edit tab on the Dashboard node page
Click the
URL Redirects link on the left side of the page (between Revision information and Authoring information)
Click on the Add
URL redirect link
Type dashboard
in the Path box
Click Save
Click on the BYU Capstone logo to make sure the dashboard works properly
The Dashboard content type
The Dashboard content type is used to configure the layout of the Dashboard content item. To inspect or change this layout, do the following:

If the gray menu bar is not showing on your browser click on the Manage menu at the top left of the browser window. This will open the gray Administrator menu bar.
Click on the Structure menu tab
Click on the Content types link
Find Dashboard in the list of content types
In the drop-down menu button on the right, select Manage display
.
If you don't see Manage display
in the dropdown, you will need to have a role that has the permissions to manage display. Contact the web development team to get these permissions.
Click on the Manage layout button. This will display the Edit layout for Dashboard content items
window.
NOTE: As of 9/23/22, the Manage Layout button does not allow you to drag the fields around.The web developers will need to do this.
Dashboard Views
The elements displayed on the dashboard are View displays of the Block type
You can find the name of the View displayed by following the instructions above to display the Edit layout for Dashboard content items
window.
Then, clear the Show content preview
checkbox at the top of the page.
This will show the names of all the Views blocks that are on the Dashboard page. As you look, you will see that all the views names begin with Dashboard
, although that is a convention, not a requirement.
To change the views blocks:
Click on the Structure tab of the Administrator menu.
Click on the Views link
On the Views page, find the view you wish to enter.
Click the Edit button on that view
Select the Block display at the top of the page
Edit the block as desired
Click the Save button
Dashboard Links
The links on the Dashboard (for example, the Coach Training Zoom Meeting link) are fixed links in the website, but there is a URL Redirect that takes place. To change the destination for these links, you will need to adjust the URL Redirect in Drupal.
To adjust the URL Redirect in Drupal:
Click on the Configuration tab of the Administrator menu (if the Administrator doesn't show up, click on the Manage tab at the top of the window)
Scroll down to find the Search and Metadata group
Click on
URL Redirects in that group
Find the
URL Redirect that you wish to change, and click on the Edit button for that
URL
Type the desired target
URL in the To box on the Edit
URL Redirect page
Click the Save button
