There is a default grace period of 15 minutes for a submission, meaning that if it is turned in within 15 minutes after the deadline, it is on time. This is done to allow for technical problems with submissions.

The default grace period is set on byucapstone.byu.edu by going to Structure/Content Types/Submission and clicking on Manage Fields.

Find the field Grace Period, and click on Edit. You can then change the default value.

If you wish to give a team other than the default grace period (perhaps because they are having technical difficulties that you are unable to resolve quickly), you can go to that particular submission, click on Edit, and change the Grace period value for that submission.
