(Scheduled throughout fall and winter semesters)

Most scheduled instructional periods will have reading assignments that you are expected to complete. Each reading assignment will be available on the schedule in Learning Suite. The reading assignments should be completed before coming to class.

During the instructional session, your team will hold a group discussion focused on questions provided during the instructional session. Actively participating in these discussions will increase your understanding of the principles. Attendance at these team discussions is required.

Questions on the pre-session reading (focused on understanding the reading), as well as the discussion questions (focused on applying the knowledge), will be given in a “packet” available on Learning Suite. Each student should complete the packet by the due date. Some parts of the packet will require individual answers and others will record team answers based on the team discussion. Note that the two types of questions, understanding and application, are the same as the two types of questions on the Product Development Exam. The packets will be graded using a combination of machine scoring and grading by a TA (for open response questions).

In addition to the individual packet submitted by each team member, the coach will be responsible for submitting a Qualtrics survey recording attendance at the team group discussion. The coach will also submit a score describing the quality of the team discussion.

Hence, for each packet, you will receive two grades: one for the assignment submitted by each individual, and one participating in the team discussion. No late packets will be accepted without prior arrangements with the instructors. If an emergency prevents your getting the packet in by the deadline, please contact your lead instructor as soon as you can, but definitely before the packet deadline.
