Health Issues

Physical and mental health issues can affect Capstone students. The instructors, Departments, and University want to help students with these challenges.

The University Accessibility Center (2170 WSC, 801-422-2767, uacfrontdesk@byu.edu) provides a large variety of services to support students with challenges. The best way to contact them is via their website at https://uac.byu.edu/services-offered

In addition to the Accessibility Center, BYU has an office of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). CAPS provides help to students, faculty, and staff in “recognizing and responding to students in distress”. It also provides counseling and referrals for further help and support. Contact the office at 801.422.3035, walk in at 1500 WSC, or visit relevant websites https://help.byu.edu or https://caps.byu.edu/for-faculty-and-staff. The image below provides an assessment tool for how best to help students in distress.
