If your team has any testing to do with your project that could have risk to people or property, you will likely need to create a safety plan and have it approved. The safety plan needs to address the following items:
Putting together a plan takes time and you’ll need to have it in place and approved before testing can be performed or travel made. Plan a month or more ahead. Sources that may be used to help put the safety plan together are your coach, Dave Laws, college safety officer, and BYU Risk Management.
You can find a safety plan template at https://risk.byu.edu/creating-safety-plans. Additional samples can be found in Class Documents/templates on box.byu.edu. Continue working with the Capstone office until approval is given for the Safety Plan.
